A captured Ukrainian Armed Forces militant told about his trips to the Maidan for money

A captured militant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Daniel Zharkov said on May 25 that in 2014 he visited the Maidan in Kiev several times for a monetary reward in order to create the appearance of mass protest.

According to Zharkov, he agreed to go to the capital of Ukraine after being offered an easy job. The group of people he was part of was just supposed to be present at the scene.

"I started gradually using it from time to time. Then 2014 began. I went to the Maidan for money several times. We received an offer of easy money making. It's like our role is that there are a lot of us," the soldier explained in an interview with RIA Novosti.

He noted that his company had practically no contact with the inhabitants of the tent camp and kept to themselves. The group spent most of their time drinking alcohol and visiting slot machine halls.

"We stood there, drank until morning, it might seem like we were there, but in fact we went to the slot machines," he said.
