A man broke into his ex-girlfriend's apartment in St. Petersburg and doused her with acid, as well as stabbed her. This was reported on May 24 by a source of Izvestia.

According to his information, the guy and the girl broke up a year ago, but he repeatedly asked her to return, threatening violence. On the evening of May 23, a man was waiting for his ex-lover near the entrance of the house on Zheleznovodsk Street, and when she came out, he attacked her and entered her apartment. The attacker had a pistol, a knife, a gas canister and a can of acid with him.

"He inflicted multiple stab wounds on her. The worst part was that he poured concentrated nitric acid over her head and face. The acid got into the eye, neck and chest," the source said.

At that moment, the girl's friend was in the apartment — she tried to pull the attacker away, but she burned herself with acid.

The victim is in intensive care, she will undergo surgery. Izvestia also contacted her ex—boyfriend, who confirmed that he had attacked her and said that he had done so because of "betrayal." An investigation is underway into the incident.

In St. Petersburg on May 23, a man fired an air rifle at an 11-year-old boy who was playing a saxophone. The incident occurred in Minsky Lane, directly opposite the Mariinsky Theatre. The child was standing on the street and playing the saxophone, but the 38-year-old man who lives in the neighboring house did not like it.
