A criminal case has been opened into an accident involving a businessman's son in Nizhny Novgorod.

A criminal case was opened on the fact of an accident caused by the son of a businessman in Nizhny Novgorod in a state of alcoholic intoxication, after which he committed hooligan acts. This was reported on May 24 by the Investigative Committee of Russia.

It is noted that the young man, who regularly violated the rules of the road, became the hero of the legal program of the federal TV channel.

We are talking about the incident on May 20, the driver is 21-year-old Sergey Kornilov, who caused a massive accident in a Mercedes at the Pokhvalinsky Congress in Nizhny Novgorod. No one was injured in the accident. Four administrative materials were immediately compiled for the defendant. After checking, it turned out that the young man had already been held accountable many times before this accident.

"The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia requested a report after the release of a story about illegal actions of a resident of the Nizhny Novgorod region," the agency clarifies in the Telegram channel.

The head of the department, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed the head of the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region, Ayrat Akhmetshin, to provide a report on the progress of the investigation and the established circumstances of the incident.
