Carolina defeated Montreal and tied the score in the NHL playoff series.

The Carolina Hurricanes Hockey Club defeated the Montreal Canadiens HC in the second match of the National Hockey League (NHL) semifinal playoff series. The match took place on May 24 and ended with a score of 3:2 in overtime.

Already in the third minute, Carolina Hurricanes forward Eric Robinson opened the scoring in the match, but Josh Anderson restored equality in the 12th minute. In the second period, in the 38th minute, Nikolai Ehlers put the hosts ahead, but in the 53rd minute, Anderson scored a double and sent the game into overtime.

Ehlers scored the puck in extra time. This allowed his team to win the match.

The four-win streak is now even. The next match will take place on May 26 in Montreal at 03:00 Moscow time.

The Montreal Canadiens hockey Club defeated the Carolina Hurricanes in the first semi-final match of the National Hockey League playoff series on May 21. The match ended with a score of 6:2.
