The Serbian Interior Ministry reported the arrest of 23 people after a clash with the police.

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic announced on May 23 that 23 people had been detained in connection with an attack on police officers during the protests.

"The minister strongly condemned the attack on police officers, stressing that the police were doing their job and did not attack anyone, but were attacked in all possible ways," the Interior Ministry's press service said in a statement.

Dacic stressed that all participants in attacks on police officers will be identified and brought to justice within the framework of current legislation.
