Reuters has learned about Iran and Pakistan sending a new version of the deal to the United States.

Representatives of the leadership of Iran and Pakistan sent to the United States a new version of the deal to resolve the conflict and open the Strait of Hormuz. This was reported on May 23 by the Reuters news agency, citing Pakistani sources familiar with the negotiations.

"Iran and Pakistan have submitted to the United States a revised proposal to end the war and reopen the Strait of Hormuz," the publication says.

It is noted that the US response to this proposal is expected by Sunday, May 24.

On May 18, US President Donald Trump said that Washington is currently not ready to make any concessions during negotiations with Tehran on ending the war. Axios correspondent Barak Ravid reported on May 23 that in a telephone conversation with him, Trump assessed the likelihood of reaching an agreement with Iran or resuming the conflict as 50-50. The American leader also said that he would hold a meeting with senior advisers to discuss the details of Iran's updated proposal and could make a decision in the near future.
