Rescuers manually dismantle the rubble after an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on a college dormitory in Starobilsk, Luhansk People's Republic (LNR). The situation at the site of the strike on May 23 was shown by the correspondent of Izvestia, Stanislav Grigoriev.

The footage shows that one part of the building survived the attack, but the other was almost completely destroyed. Inside the surviving building are students' personal belongings, fragments of broken glass and fragments of the roof.

The bodies of the dead are being taken out from under the rubble. According to Grigoriev, a minute of silence is periodically announced so that rescuers can listen and find people. Psychologists are working at the scene, providing support and assistance to the victims and their relatives.

On May 22, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the academic building and the dormitory of the Starobilsk College. At the time of the impact, 86 children aged 14 to 18 were there. A criminal case was opened into the attack under Part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act"). According to the latest data from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, 12 people were killed. Previously, nine more people may be under the collapsed structures.

Russian President Vladimir Putin called a terrorist attack on a college dormitory. He also noted that the attack was not related to the military infrastructure, as there is none in the area. Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik added on May 23 that drones had attacked the collapse site of the dormitory where rescuers were working.
