The wreckage of a new UAV was discovered in Starobilsk after the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked a dormitory

Ukrainian drones (UAVs) continue to fly near Starobilsk of the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR), where the day before the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attacked a college dormitory. On May 23, Izvestia correspondent Stanislav Grigoriev showed the situation in the city.

He found the wreckage of the drone on the road. The UAV has not detonated and may explode at any moment.

"The highway near Starobilsk is such an unexpected nuisance on the road. These are the remnants of a Ukrainian attack drone. This is a wing drone that hovers over the road and searches for its target," Grigoriev explained.

The crashed drone tried to hit a military vehicle, but missed its target, the Izvestia correspondent noted.

There may be up to 18 victims under the rubble of the destroyed building.

On May 22, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the academic building and the dormitory of the Starobilsk College. At the time of the impact, 86 children aged 14 to 18 were there. A criminal case was opened into the attack under Part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act"). According to the latest data from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, 12 people were killed. Previously, nine more people may be under the collapsed structures.

Russian President Vladimir Putin called a terrorist attack on a college dormitory. He also noted that the attack was not related to the military infrastructure, as there is none in the area. Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik added on May 23 that drones had attacked the collapse site of the dormitory where rescuers were working.
