- The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation showed footage of Russian military personnel working with the NTRK "Impulse"
In the rear area of the special military operation zone (SVO), at a training ground in the Zaporozhye region, soldiers of the Ulyanovsk Guards airborne assault unit are conducting routine training on the use of ground-based robotic systems "Impulse". This was announced by the Russian Defense Ministry on May 23.
In conditions as close to combat as possible, paratroopers perform a wide range of tasks, confirming that the robotic platform is a reliable assistant on the battlefield in various situations.
The main goal in the development of the complex is to protect the lives of military personnel. The tracked platform is controlled remotely, so the operator is not in the area of possible damage. In the basic version, reliable signal reception is provided at a distance of 5-6 km, and the use of repeaters and repeaters allows you to increase the range by about half.
"We drove 10-11 km by our example," said the squad commander with the call sign Rodin.
The platform remains operational in all weather conditions, effectively operating in both winter cold and summer heat. In addition to transporting personnel at the squad and platoon levels, the NRTC can also be used for technical support on the battlefield.
The vehicle's power is sufficient to evacuate light wheeled vehicles and tow damaged weapons. During training at the training ground in the Zaporizhia region, special attention is paid to the stealthy movement and survivability of the complex in lowland conditions. The paratroopers are also working on the modification of the hull, mainly using rubber lining. This solution reduces the thermal footprint of the vehicle, making it difficult for thermal imagers to detect it, and also protects structural elements and towed sleds from splinters and gunshot damage.
"First of all, we monitor the sky. If it's clean, we prepare several trails, while we enter from one position and leave on a different route," Rodin said about the special routing.
This allows you not to return on an already noticeable trail and reduces the risk of hitting the complex with return fire. In addition to the supply tasks, the combat use of the "Impulse" was also practiced in the classroom. Due to the ability to quickly install turrets with heavy machine guns or automatic grenade launchers, the logistics platform can quickly turn into a mobile firing point for hitting detected targets.
On May 23, the Russian Ministry of Defense published footage of combat training exercises by military personnel of the motorized rifle units of the 18th Combined Arms Army from the Dnepr group of forces. The fighters practice their combat skills in urban environments, learn how to shoot from different positions, move in pairs and provide mutual support. Special attention is paid to training commanders to manage a unit in combat conditions.
