The death toll from a gas explosion at a coal mine in Changzhi, China, has increased to eight people. This was reported by Xinhua news agency on May 23, citing sources.

"Local emergency management authorities reported the deaths of eight people," the article says.

It is specified that 38 people remain under the rubble. Rescue operations are continuing. The cause of the accident is being clarified.
