- Former Polish Prime Minister Miller noted the EU's hypocrisy after Magyar's words about Russia
The words of Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar about the possible return of the European Union (EU) to purchases of Russian energy resources after the end of the conflict in Ukraine showed the hypocrisy of the European Union. This opinion was expressed on May 22 by former Polish Prime Minister Leszek Miller on the social network X.
"When Orban spoke about this, the indignation knew no bounds. He was called an "agent of the Kremlin," accused of "destroying the unity of the West" and pro—Russian rhetoric," he wrote.
Miller noted that a similar statement by the new Hungarian leader is now perceived in Europe as a manifestation of political realism. According to him, this shows that the assessment of a position does not depend on its content, but on who exactly voices it.
The former Polish prime minister added that Europe is gradually facing a reality in which the economy depends on affordable energy, and gas bills continue to rise, despite political statements.
