- The psychologist assessed the influence of the meme "six-seven" on the psyche of children
Mikhail Khors, a practicing psychologist, candidate of psychological Sciences, and writer, told us whether it's worth weaning a child from repeating the six-seven meme.
In conversation with aif.ru On Friday, May 22, the specialist noted that there is no universal approach to parenting, since each family has its own values. According to him, if parents want their child to focus on classics, for example, and not on memes and Anglicisms, this can be set as a task, but it is important to take into account the influence of the Internet and popular culture.
The expert stressed that it is impossible and unnecessary to fully educate a child "for oneself." He added that instilling family values is a long process that requires consistency rather than one—time efforts.
He also explained that the meme "six saved" ("6-7") is an Internet trend popular among teenagers. It is used as a reaction to awkward situations or simply shouted out for no reason, often accompanied by a hand gesture. It is assumed that the meme originated from the track Doot Doot by Skrilla, where the phrase six-seven is repeated many times.
The meme has already been recognized by linguists: portal Dictionary.com he called "67" the word of 2025, and Webster's Dictionary included the expression in its composition as "a meaningless term associated with a song and basketball," notes 360.ru . Linguists call such phenomena the "secret language of children": meaning is secondary, recognition of "one's own" is more important.
In April, blogger and lawyer Yulia Dubinina told NSN that memes cannot be replaced with a school history course, but their use today is appropriate not only in informal communication. Among the leading memes are "My 2016", "Six Saved", "Danil Kolbasenko", "Filly-filly", "Pick up the phone, baby" and others. According to the expert, memes perform several important functions today. They combine emotions, text, and context. A single image can replace an article or a long phrase. Considering clip-based thinking, memes are more accessible to perception.
Last August, RT wrote that memes were spreading quickly across the web: short videos, absurd titles, and repetitive phrases like "tralalelo tralala" fit perfectly on TikTok and social media. Such content does not require analysis, helps to unload the brain and easily entertains.
Cognitive behavioral psychologist Polina Lizogub suggested using memes and emoticons to build a team. According to the psychologist, in some companies, management encourages employees to watch and create funny, ironic or sarcastic memes on corporate topics.
