The presentation of the musical "Everything will be Celentano!" took place.
The MDM Theater hosted the presentation of the musical "Everything will be Celentano!" — an adventurous comedy based on the legendary megahits of Italian and French pop music.
The performance, which will premiere on November 6 on the bolshoi stage of the MDM Theater, combines the atmosphere of the Sanremo Festival, the sultry resort Sochi of the 1980s and the mood of the best comedies by Leonid Gaidai, Georgy Danelia and Eldar Ryazanov. To impress the girl, the hopelessly in love Dima Istomin promises to bring Adriano Celentano himself to the City Day — and launches a series of exciting events with ingenious forgery, romantic adventures, reckless risk and an unpredictable ending.
The production is based on 20 world disco hits, including L'italiano, Soli, Salut, Susanna, Ciao Bambino Sorry and other compositions from the repertoire of Adriano Celentano, Toto Cutugno, Joe Dassin and Mireille Mathieu. The songs that literally shook the dance floors of the Soviet 1980s got a new lease of life in the performance, including thanks to modern arrangements created by Evgeny Zagot: the super hits received a rich orchestral arrangement, but retained the recognizable drive of the originals. The Russian lyrics for them were written by the poet and playwright Sergei Plotov, the author of more than 30 musicals, including the popular parody hit musical "Mamma By!".
The author of the idea and creative concept of the play was Dmitry Bogachev, founder of Broadway Moscow, creator of the Broadway musical Anastasia, producer of Russian productions of Broadway and European musicals ("The Phantom of the Opera", Mamma Mia!, "Chicago", "Chess", etc.), as well as the original musical "Fear Nothing, I with you", which became a real theatrical phenomenon.
"In the musical "Everything will be Celentano!" — not a single passing song. Only the super hits that are constantly playing on the radio and in playlists. We have received exclusive rights to create their Russian-language versions and use them in our production. They always create a sense of celebration. Such a celebration will be our performance, in the finale of which the whole hall will dance, as it was at every screening of Mamma Mia!," said Dmitry Bogachev.
"For me, "Everything will be Celentano!" is a very personal story, because this music was played in my childhood. I was in love with Toto Cutugno, and now it's like I'm back inside this world—sunny, light, full of love and adventure. It's going to be a real comedy journey.: Together with the audience, we will move through the resort Sochi of the 1980s, where almost every scene is a new bright location. And, of course, this music is ageless. All the songs in our performance have some amazing magic - they immediately make you happier," adds director Nina Chusova, who has created dozens of successful performances throughout Russia.
At the presentation, the journalists and guests were shown sketches of the design of the stage space and costumes, revealing the nostalgic, but at the same time modern visual style of the future performance — from the resort promenades of Sochi to the bright splendor of the discos of the 1980s. For the first time in Russian, the songs Salut (Yulia Dovganishina and Alexander Korkunov), Amore No (Sergey Tassler), Ciao Bambino Sorry (Yulia Iva), Se una donna se ne va (Alexander Sukhanov) were performed from the stage, accompanied by Evgeny Zagot, and the main Italian hit, L'italiano, became the finale of the presentation.
Broadway Moscow's new project was created in partnership with Ticketland and Yandex Afisha.
