The Government of the Russian Federation has instructed to work out the individualization of CTP tariffs

The Government of the Russian Federation has instructed the Bank of Russia, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Industry and Trade to work out additional individualization of insurance tariffs for CTP. The report should be prepared by 2030-2031. This is stated in the order approving the action plan for the implementation of the Strategy for Improving Road Safety in the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030 and for the future up to 2036.

As indicated in the document, the individualization of tariffs may depend on the level of road safety risks, the degree of which is determined by the characteristics of the insured vehicle.

It takes into account the equipment with safety systems, the service life, as well as data from the unified national rating of the independent assessment of vehicle safety — RuNCAP. It is planned that the technical characteristics of vehicles, the number and severity of accidents involving them will also be taken into account.

In turn, as follows from the government document, a report on the development of RuNCAP (by analogy with the EuroNCAP safety rating) should be prepared in 2027-2030 by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Rosstandart with the participation of FSUE NAMI. This rating can be used to purchase the safest vehicles, including in the framework of purchases for state and municipal needs.

Earlier that day, it became known that the Russian government had also instructed the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Ministry of Transport, with the participation of FSUE NAMI, to conduct a comprehensive study of the risks of right-hand drive vehicles in traffic.

On May 21, the Russian government approved an action plan for the implementation of a Strategy to improve road safety for the period up to 2030 and for the future up to 2036. The plan contains more than 260 events. The main goal of the strategy is to reduce road deaths by one and a half times by 2030 and by two times by 2036 (compared to the level of 2023).
