On May 21, Bolivian Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security Edgar Morales Mamani announced his resignation in order to stabilize the situation in the country, where anti-government protests have not stopped for several weeks.

"I am here to promote dialogue so that peace can reign in our country. Therefore, colleagues, I am resigning from the post of Minister of Labor," the state news agency ABI quoted him as saying.

Later, the agency added that President Rodrigo Paz appointed Jose Baskope Laruta as Williams' new Minister of Labor.

Dan Hodges, a columnist for the British edition of the Daily Mail, reported on May 19 that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer may decide to resign from his post. The journalist made this assumption based on his own source in the British government, who stated: the Prime Minister understands the difficult domestic political situation well, but at the same time intends to leave with dignity.
