An accident involving a minibus occurred on the federal highway (FAD) M-5 "Ural", as a result of which one person was killed. This was announced on May 22 by the press service of the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Chelyabinsk region.

"As a result of the accident, one person was killed, five people were injured, sent for examination to the Zlatoust City hospital (GB), conscious, the condition is being clarified," the press service of the department said in a statement on its website.

It is specified that a cargo and passenger Gazelle was also involved in the accident. According to the press service, no traffic restrictions were introduced on the highway.

The regional state traffic inspectorate clarified that, according to preliminary information, the driver, born in 1975, who was driving a minibus, drove into the oncoming lane for unknown reasons. There he collided with a Gazelle car driven by a driver born in 1985.

It is noted that an inspection is currently underway, during which the circumstances and causes of the incident will be established, as well as the necessary examinations will be appointed for a subsequent procedural decision.

Irina Volk, an official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry, said on May 21 that police officers had detained a man who drunkenly hit two people by the side of the road in a car in the Moscow region and left the scene of an accident. It was clarified that the accident occurred on the evening of May 20 on the 68th km of the Lotoshino–Suvorovo–Klin highway. The driver of the Lada Priora car, being intoxicated, lost control and ran over the citizens standing on the side of the road, after which he fled the scene.
