By the phrase "the spirit of Anchorage," Moscow means the atmosphere that developed between Russian leader Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump during the Alaska summit. This was announced on 22 by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.

"By the "spirit of Anchorage," if you focus on this particular wording, we mean the atmosphere of trust that has developed between the presidents of Russia and the United States, which allowed, in the context of last year's summit in Alaska, to coordinate at the leadership level of the two countries the basic contours of a settlement around Ukraine," he said in an interview with Vedomosti.
