On May 22, the head of the US Federal Commission for Fine Arts, Rodney Mims Cook, announced his intention to attend the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
"The Organizing Committee of the forum and the US Department of State have confirmed that I have been invited to the plenary session and the speech by Russian President Vladimir Putin. And I will be present at it," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
According to Cook, he will be the first official representative of the American authorities to attend the forum in several years.
