Yaroslavl Hockey Club (HC) Lokomotiv won the Gagarin Cup for the second season in a row thanks to a team game. This was announced on May 21 by the president of the Russian Hockey Federation Vladislav Tretyak.

"We need to praise both teams. But Lokomotiv looks more solid, plays more smoothly, we can recall the second period of the penultimate match — 11 shots in a row," TASS quoted him as saying.

According to Tretyak, it is difficult to win a championship title, but it is even more difficult to keep it. He noted that after the change of coach, the team had to adapt to new requirements and approaches.
