Yaroslavl HC Lokomotiv won the Gagarin Cup, winning the trophy for the second time in its history, beating Ak Bars Kazan on home ice. The victory came on May 21, a symbolic date — the anniversary of the club's previous championship.

The final series of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) playoffs ended with a decisive match, in which the Yaroslavl team managed to beat the opponent and formalize the final victory in the tournament. For Lokomotiv, this success was the second Gagarin Cup in the club's history.
