A student injured in the collapse of a balcony in Sevastopol will be transferred to Moscow.

One of the students injured in the collapse of a balcony at a Sevastopol school will be sent to Moscow for treatment. This was announced on May 21 by the governor of the region Mikhail Razvozhaev.

He recalled that a total of 10 children were hospitalized — another girl later sought help on her own. Three children in the hospital are in serious condition, and doctors are fighting for the life of one boy.

"The situation is difficult now, but stable, although it has been decided that one [injured] boy will be sent to Moscow," the governor said on the STV television channel.

The head of the region added that the children affected by the emergency will be exempt from final exams, and they will also receive assistance in enrolling in educational institutions.

"The task is to ensure that the accident does not affect the future life plans of the children, I will personally deal with each child. It is clear that it is obviously impossible to take exams now, so the guys will receive certificates based on the average score, then they will need to be helped to enter the universities they planned to enroll in," Razvozhaev clarified.

The collapse of the balcony in the educational institution occurred a day earlier. At the time of the tragedy, a graduate photo shoot was taking place there. Izvestia published footage from the scene of the incident, which injured 10 children. The Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia for Sevastopol and the Republic of Crimea later opened criminal cases on violations of safety rules during construction and negligence of officials.

Razvozhaev reported on May 21 that the condition of one graduate who was injured in the balcony collapse is extremely serious. After the operation, he remains in intensive care, conscious, under the supervision of doctors. One of the injured students is also in serious condition. Six more children suffered moderate injuries, and their condition is stable.
