On May 21, Simferopol hosted the photo exhibition "Hearts that left the light. Military commander — Alexander Fedorchak" dedicated to the deceased correspondent of Izvestia.

The published footage shows how the participants read poems dedicated to the deceased military commander.

Natalia Terentyeva, Vice President of the Women of Taurida Foundation, noted that in the future it is planned to hold commemorative events in honor of other figures who have left a creative mark.

"In our understanding, our heroes are something so monumental, ironclad, stable. We would like to show their personality, their soul, and preserve this legacy so that it is accessible to a large audience," Terentyeva said.

The father of the deceased journalist, Sergei Fedorchak, stressed that they tried to select the most non-standard, amateur photographs for the exhibition.

"Here we see Sasha in different places, in different roles. He is both a military commander here, and just a journalist who shoots regular reports, and the sports editorial staff is viewed here," Alexander's father shared.

On March 25, the Vernadsky Crimean Federal University hosted an award ceremony for the winners of the journalistic works competition in memory of Izvestia war correspondent Alexander Fedorchak. Polina Dreeva, a participant in the competition, said that Fedorchak had a strong career path and gave his life for his profession, and it was worth being proud of him and remembering him. The participant also noted that the correspondent had done a lot for the university.

Izvestia correspondent Alexander Fedorchak died in the special operation zone on March 24, 2025. On the same day, Andrey Panov, the operator of the Zvezda TV channel, and Alexander Sirkeli, the driver of the film crew, died. On April 17, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree awarding Fedorchak the Order of Courage posthumously.
