Babkina noted the popularity of folk songs in Russia
People's Artist of the Russian Federation Nadezhda Babkina, who was awarded a state award in the Kremlin, noted that modern people really like folk songs, and they are unexpectedly delighted when they come to concerts at the Russian Song Theater. She shared her impressions of the ceremony on May 21 with Izvestia correspondent Anton Zolotnitsky.
She noted that it is very exciting to receive an award in such a solemn atmosphere. But the singer used to share all the insignia awarded to her with her team.
"When you create something in a team, you get a completely different result — happiness, which you then share with everyone else. And an amazing contact happens. People who come to our theater, even those who doubt who needs it, the folk genre, leave in tears. They say they didn't expect how wonderful it was. We need to work with the people, they are the same," the singer shared.
The People's Artist sang in the Catherine Hall of the Kremlin exclusively for Izvestia. She sang the song "My Homeland" in a half-whisper so as not to disturb the others present. Babkina drew attention to the fact that the acoustics in the Catherine Hall, where the ceremony was held, were very good.
"I once sang in this hall. I mean, they awarded it, but I just sang it. I didn't expect how amazing the acoustics are here. But you know, they built it wisely. They put their soul into it. It's not like today's architecture is made," she added.
On May 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin presented state awards to People's Artist of the Russian Federation Yuri Antonov and People's Artist of the RSFSR Nadezhda Babkina in the Kremlin. The artists were awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, first class. Addressing Antonov and Babkina, the head of state stressed that their work inspires Russians.
