Changan has announced a new crossover Deepal S05 for Russia

Changan will launch a new Deepal S05 crossover on the Russian market. The model has been certified in the Russian Federation and received Vehicle Type Approval, according to a statement from the representative office of the Chinese brand, which was received by Izvestia on May 21.

The Deepal S05 is an all—electric all-wheel drive crossover with a twin-engine powerplant. Its length is 4620 mm, width — 1900 mm, height — 1600 mm, wheelbase — 2880 mm.

The power plant develops 381 hp, the 30-minute power of the model is 146 hp, and the lithium-iron-phosphate battery (LFP), located under the floor between the axles, provides a range of up to 500 km without recharging. The suspension is independent, of the MacPherson type at the front and multi—link at the rear.

The interior is designed in a minimalist style with an emphasis on ergonomics and modern technology, the company noted. The crossover is equipped with a multimedia system with support for wireless interfaces and a set of digital functions. The Deepal S05 is equipped with disc brakes on all wheels, ABS, BAS and ESC systems, a braking energy recovery system, front and side airbags, side shutters, and an ERA-GLONASS emergency call system.

Currently, the Deepal line in Russia includes only the Deepal G318 hybrid crossover, which is manufactured at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad.

Earlier, on May 19, it was reported that the Russian division of Changan announced the expansion of the production program at the Kaliningrad Avtotor plant. During 2026, the company plans to localize the production of eight new and updated models in popular market segments. These include crossovers, liftbacks, and pickups.
