Poor sleep may be the result of an improperly placed pillow. Angelina Loginova, head of product management at MOON, told about this on Thursday, May 21.

The expert noted that it is not necessary to choose a pillow that is too soft or excessively rigid, since in the first case the pillow collapses without giving support, and in the second case it creates pressure points and forces the neck to assume an unnatural position.

Loginova added that when choosing a pillow, it is necessary to focus on your favorite sleeping position.

"Sleeping on your side requires a higher pillow. To accurately select its height, you need to measure the distance from the neck to the end of the shoulder while lying on your side," she explained in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .

The specialist added that an 8-10 cm high pillow is suitable for sleeping on your back, which supports the natural curve of the neck, and the lowest pillow is needed for a night's rest on your stomach.

In turn, neurologist Angelina Batiushka stated that the incorrect height of the pillow leads to constant tension of the back muscles. As a result, a person may wake up with neck discomfort, fatigue, and a headache. Another unpleasant consequence of sleeping on an unsuitable pillow can be problems with posture, she concluded.

Sleep therapist Maxim Novikov shared on May 20 tips on how to quickly adapt to jet lag after a long flight, RT reports. He recommended changing your sleep schedule in advance a few days before departure. The doctor stressed that lack of sleep can complicate adaptation. 360.ru .

Somnologist and neurologist Natalia Romanchuk from the clinic of Samara State Medical University (SamSMU) of the Russian Ministry of Health said on May 19 that sleeping in a hot room can lead to disruption of thermoregulation processes, which makes it difficult for the body to cool naturally and prevents normal sleep.

In turn, Irina Golovanova, a neurologist of the highest category, a somnologist at the Center for Cognitive and Psychoemotional Health, told the Moscow City News agency that the so-called "bum method", which is spreading on social networks, can harm people with cardiovascular diseases and problems with blood circulation.

This method assumes that you should go to bed without a blanket after prolonged ventilation of the room, wait for a noticeable cooling of the body and only then take cover.
