The granddaughter accused of murder of the ex-mayor of Samara Tarkhov and his wife pleaded guilty

Ekaterina Belskaya, the granddaughter of former Samara mayor Viktor Tarkhov, pleaded guilty to murdering her grandparents, but refused to plead guilty to abusing their bodies. This was reported on May 21 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.

When asked by the judge whether she pleads guilty to committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code ("Murder"), Belskaya replied in the affirmative.

"In full, Your Honor," she said.

In addition, the girl partially pleaded guilty to selling their jewelry and selling the car. She denies the theft of the Tarkhovs' documents, as well as paintings, TV and clothes.

The murder of the ex-mayor of Samara Tarkhov and his wife Natalia became known on February 5, 2025. According to the investigation, they died about a month before the discovery of the bodies. The last time the surveillance cameras recorded them was at the entrance of the house. After that, no one saw the couple, although messages continued to arrive on their behalf. The disappearance of the couple was reported to the police by family acquaintances.

Ekaterina, the granddaughter of the ex-mayor, was arrested on suspicion of double murder. According to the investigation, she had been sending SMS messages from Tarkhov and his wife's phones for a month. At the same time, she began selling off her grandparents' property using forged documents, and claimed that Tarkhov and his wife had left the country.

On February 28 last year, the girl confessed. She explained that she poisoned relatives to take over their property, and then froze the bodies in nitrogen, after which they were dismembered by her accomplice. The Tarkhovs' remains were scattered in dumpsters.
