At least one unidentified unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was detected in Latvian airspace, where an air alert was issued in three regions and one region. This was announced on May 21 on the website of the Ministry of Defense of the country.

"The national Armed Forces must confirm that there is at least one unmanned aerial vehicle in Latvian airspace," the article says.

The alert was announced at 10:45 a.m. (coincides with Moscow time) in the Ludzensky, Rezekne and Kraslavsky territories and at 11:27 a.m. in the Augsdaugava territory. It is specified that as a result of the incident, NATO fighters were put on alert.
