The official visit that Russian President Vladimir Putin paid to the People's Republic of China (PRC) was eventful and highly productive. This was announced on May 21 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov during his briefing.

"The visit to China was, as is usually the case with our strategic privileged partnership, intense, meaningful and as effective as possible," he said.

Peskov drew special attention to the Declaration signed by Moscow and Beijing on the formation of a multipolar world and a new type of international relations. This document, he added, has become a new impetus for the development of Russian-Chinese strategic, partnership and allied relations.

Putin's official two-day visit ended on May 20. During the meeting, the Russian leader held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, and members of the Russian delegation together with their Chinese counterparts signed 21 documents.

On the same day, Putin announced that the agreements between Moscow and Beijing were aimed at the economy, and Xi Jinping added that the trade exchange between Russia and China has exceeded the $200 billion mark for the third year in a row.
