The Gislaved plant in Kaluga has produced its 30 millionth tire.
Since the start of production in October 2013, the Gislaved tire factory in Kaluga, which previously belonged to the German concern Continental, has produced 30 million tires. This was reported to Izvestia on May 21 by the press service of the Cordiant holding.
The 30 millionth anniversary tire was the flagship winter model Gislaved One W, a proprietary development of the holding, which will go on sale in the fall of 2026. It will be available in 75 standard sizes from 16 to 22 inches for passenger cars.
In 2023, the plant became part of Cordiant. The company employs about 1,000 people and produces tires under the Gislaved and Torero brands. The production capacity is 3 million tires per year, 293 standard sizes, 339 articles are in mass production, the size range is from 14 inches.
The plant inherited more than 200 pieces of equipment. The company cooperates with the branch of the scientific and technical center "Intair", located at the plant, which develops new models. It was formed on the basis of the Russian Continental R&D plant.
As reported on March 19, the Gislaved tire factory in Ulyanovsk (formerly the Bridgestone factory) produced 1.2 million tires by the end of 2025 and mastered 148 unique standard sizes in two brands — Gislaved and Cordiant. Commercial production at the plant was launched in 2016, and it was restarted in March 2025 after almost three years of downtime and a change of ownership.
