The Esteo MX crossover went into production in St. Petersburg

The new Esteo MX crossover has entered full-cycle production at the AGR Holding plant in Shushary, St. Petersburg. This is stated in the message of the press service of the domestic automaker, which was received by Izvestia on May 21.

Esteo becomes the second automobile brand after Jeland (both Russian), the production of which is organized at the automobile plant in Shushary (a former GM enterprise), which has undergone extensive modernization and retrofitting.

For the production of Exteo MX, the company has updated conveyor systems, manipulators, reprogrammed robotic glass glue application cells and adapted other technological equipment. One of the key tasks of the project was the integration of the new model into existing production without disrupting the existing production of cars, the company noted.

The Esteo MX is based on the Exeed MX model. The car is equipped with a two-liter turbocharged engine with a capacity of 197 hp, a classic eight-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system. The ground clearance is 210 mm. The car is equipped with a winter package, including remote engine start and interior heating/cooling via a mobile app.

Sales of the Exteo MX are expected to begin this summer. Esteo is the fourth joint project of the Russian holding AGR and the Chinese company Defetoo after Tenet, Jeland and Tenet Plus.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that the Geely Coolray crossover, which dropped out of the brand's lineup at the end of last year, returned to the Russian market in an updated form. The model went on sale at a price starting from 2.89 million rubles, it is available in one package.
