Russia will always be able to find buyers for its strategically important minerals, despite European Union (EU) sanctions. This was announced on May 21 by Dmitry Birichevsky, Director of the Department of Economic Cooperation at the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"We also have such raw materials, such minerals, and we have always been a reliable supplier for those who are interested in it...> If someone doesn't want to buy it, it's their right, their choice. Here, again, raw materials are scarce, not everyone has them, critical minerals. Therefore, we will always find a buyer, we have no problems with this," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Birichevsky said on the same day that the EU had lost up to $1 trillion as a result of the refusal to supply Russian raw materials and hydrocarbons. According to him, these losses are explained by purchases of more expensive raw materials from other sources, the terrorist attack against Nord Streams and the EU's decision to abandon Russian carbon.

Irish analyst and economist Philip Pilkington reported on May 20 that Europe is turning to Russia because of the energy crisis and begging to send it diesel fuel. He added that Europeans should limit fuel consumption "already now," but instead the governments of the countries "pretend that everything is fine."
