Hieromonk Roman, a poet and author of spiritual hymns, died at Belgrade airport before returning to Russia. This was announced on May 20 by Metropolitan Tikhon (Shevkunov).

"We have just been informed that Hieromonk Roman (Matyushin) passed away to the Lord at the Belgrade airport on his way back to his homeland to die. On the last day of Easter," reads a post on the VKontakte social network.
