Almost a quarter of principals admitted to saving on school security
One in four school principals has to save money on ensuring the protection of educational institutions due to lack of money, the annual monitoring of the state of general education of the Popular Front has shown. An expert from the Popular Front told Izvestia about this. Analytics" by Konstantin Smirnov.
"This year, 23% of directors admitted that they have to save money on providing security for an educational organization due to insufficient funding. In 2025, their share was 25%," he said.
At the same time, according to the interlocutor of the editorial office, only 61% of educational organizations have security functions assigned to a licensed private security organization. Another 22% is just a watchman, 11% is a watchman, and 6% is a unit of the Russian Guard.
However, the share of schools with guards and watchmen decreased in favor of public school services — from 34% and 13% in 2025, respectively. This may explain the strong growth in the overall security services market that has been observed in recent years.
