In the Moscow region, as in all regions of Russia, the electronic preliminary voting of the United Russia party will be held from May 25 to 31. Residents will determine the candidates who will represent the party in the autumn elections to the State Duma, the Moscow Regional Duma and municipal councils of deputies. This was reported on the website of the regional branch of the party on May 20.

According to federal experts, the Moscow region has become one of the leaders in terms of competition: 13 people are applying for a seat in the regional parliament, while the average figure for legislative assemblies in Russia is seven people per seat.

Of the 900 candidates registered in the region, 670 intend to run for the Moscow City Duma, 235 for the State Duma, and the rest are seeking mandates in municipal councils. Igor Bryntsalov, secretary of the regional branch of the party, Chairman of the Moscow State Duma, said that a significant renewal of the regional parliament is expected following the election cycle.

"About 80% of the total number of candidates registered for the preliminary vote are new faces in politics: employees of industrial and agricultural enterprises, representatives of business and the public sector — teachers, doctors. There are also many young people under the age of 35 — we have more than 20% of such candidates. These are activists of the Young Guard, volunteers, and social activists," Bryntsalov said.

He added that 67 participants of the special operation (SVO) are participating in the preliminary voting in the Moscow region. Among them is Lyudmila Bolilaya, a military medic from Stupino, who became the first woman to be awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation for her feat in the SVR zone. Special conditions are provided for this category of candidates.: They will receive an additional 25% of the votes they have received.

It is noted that the registration of electors will last until May 29 inclusive. To date, about 650 thousand residents of the region over the age of 18 have expressed their desire to vote. Information about biographies, programs, and video presentations of the selection participants is available in the system.

On May 15, Senator Sergey Perminov, a member of the general council of the party, announced that more than 20.3 thousand candidates had applied to participate in the preliminary voting of the United Russia party at all election levels. The highest activity was recorded at the primaries for the legislative assembly elections — 10,973 applications were submitted there. The competition here consists of seven candidates for a place, about 5% of them have experience of participating in their own. 4,374 applications were received to participate in the selection of candidates to the State Duma — the competition reaches almost 11 people per place, and 12.2% of them also participated in the free.
