A video from China showing Russian President Vladimir Putin taking off his jacket before getting into an official car upon arrival at the airport on May 19 had gained tens of millions of views and positive comments on Chinese social media by Wednesday, May 20.

"During his visit to China, President Putin really looks very relaxed!" one Internet user wrote.

Other Chinese citizens noted that in Russian culture, outerwear is usually removed when entering a room or in a relaxed atmosphere.

"It's very casual—it's like coming home," another follower added.

The Russian leader's visit began the day before. The Head of state arrived in China on a two-day visit at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping. This trip is timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation, which is fundamental for bilateral relations.

During a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on May 20, Putin invited him to pay a visit to Russia next year. He noted that the close cooperation between Moscow and Beijing is especially in demand in the context of the tense situation in the international arena, Putin added.
