Putin noted the role of the years of education with China in the development of scientific sovereignty

Thanks to the cross-years of education between Russia and China, it will be possible to bring personnel training to a new level and guarantee the scientific sovereignty of both countries. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on May 20.

"Today, together with President Xi Jinping, we officially launched the cross-years of education. I am confident that thanks to this new interstate thematic project, it will be possible to bring personnel training in a wide range of specialties, including in advanced industries, to a new level in order to guarantee the scientific and technological sovereignty of our countries," the Russian leader stressed.

According to him, joint work in the field of education and science will strengthen the scientific and technological potential of Russia and China. The statement was made during Putin's official visit to China.

Putin also noted that digital innovations and artificial intelligence technologies open up new opportunities for the economic development of the two countries. According to him, humanitarian contacts in the fields of culture, cinematography, sports, youth and tourism exchanges are actively developing. This is facilitated by the visa-free regime introduced on the initiative of the Chinese side.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced on May 20 that Russia would extend the visa-free regime for Chinese citizens. On the same day, China also decided to extend the visa-free regime for the Russian Federation until December 31, 2027. This initiative concerns business trips, tourism, visits to relatives and friends, exchange programs and transit.
