In Tula, on Wednesday, May 20, the heat record, which was set in 1897, may be broken. The air will warm up to +32 degrees on this day. This corresponds to the climatic norm of the Mediterranean June. According to the Phobos center, the anticyclonic weather will continue in the region.

According to TSN24, the series of heat records, which started on May 19, will continue in Central Russia and the Volga region. Historical highs may be recorded in Samara, Nizhny Novgorod and other cities.

The weather pattern will not change in the coming days either. The temperature will remain at +31 degrees. Thunderstorms will arrive in the region only on Friday, the weather will be unstable over the weekend with showers and thunderstorms, the temperature will drop to +23 degrees.

A free water distribution was organized in Tula during the heat wave.

Earlier, forecasters warned that this year's summer could be abnormally hot. Periods of high temperatures and lack of precipitation are predicted, which increases the risk of drought and wildfires. The fire season in Russia began in April and may last until October, and in some regions — until November.
