Uncontrolled use of technology can reduce the level of independent thinking and the habit of intellectual effort. Maria Todorova, a family and child psychologist, neuropsychologist, consultant on child development and education, told Izvestia on May 20.

"The key is not banning technologies, which always plays against those who have banned them, but proper pedagogical support and training on how to use them," the expert noted.

According to her, artificial intelligence (AI) is gradually becoming a familiar part of the educational environment, and the learning system is adapting to new technological realities. This process can be compared to how computers and various programs were massively introduced into schools earlier, which eventually became the basic learning tool.

Todorova said that today the focus is shifting from mechanical memorization of information to the formation of new competencies. These include an understanding of the principles of digital tools, the ability to correctly formulate tasks, critically evaluate results and verify the reliability of data.

The expert concluded that neural networks are already actively used in the educational process.: They help schoolchildren and students sort out complex topics, complete assignments, and develop creative skills. At the same time, AI becomes not a substitute, but an additional learning tool.

On the same day, Russian Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov told RIA Novosti that starting from September 1, Russian schoolchildren will begin studying the Artificial Intelligence profile. According to him, the vector of education development is set by the All-Russian Olympiad of Schoolchildren, the next cycle of which ended in May.

On April 26, the head of Rosobrnadzor, Anzor Muzaev, said that the use of AI in homework deprives exercises of educational value. He stressed that the ability of algorithms to cope with standard tasks for a child is becoming a serious challenge for the entire education system.
