Fishing on the lakes of the Kurgan region has been severely restricted

Restrictions on fishing in lakes have been in effect in the Kurgan Region since May 20. The ban will be in effect until June 20. The reason is the beginning of spawning.

According to the <url> news agency, with reference to the regional department of state control of the Nizhneobsky territorial administration of Rosrybolovstvo, industrial fishing is completely stopped during the spawning period. Fish hunters are allowed to fish only from the shore with one float or bottom rod, spinning rod or feeder. One fisherman is allowed to have no more than two hooks. It is forbidden to use boats.

Fines from 2 to 5 thousand rubles and confiscation of gear are imposed for violating the ban. Poachers are required to pay damages for every illegally caught fish.

The agency notes that Operation Spawn is already underway in the region, as part of which control over local reservoirs has been strengthened. River restrictions will be in effect until May 31.

Earlier, Ilya Rusyaev, a lawyer and founder of the Rusyaev Club business community, said that in Russia there are restrictions on the methods and volumes of fishing, for violation of which fines and criminal cases are threatened. At the federal level, the law on amateur fishing prohibits fishing using explosives and chemicals, electric current, nets (with narrow exceptions), spearfishing in places of mass recreation, with scuba gear and with electronic detection devices. In the basin regulations, the list is expanded even more. In Russia, catching walleye, pike, bream, rapeseed and catfish can be fined, as they are often subject to spawning restrictions. Special attention is also paid to sterlet, sturgeon, grayling, salmon and whitefish, which are under special bans.
