The Russian Foreign Ministry warned about Russia's response to nuclear tests

Russia will respond appropriately and proportionately if any State conducts nuclear tests. This was announced on May 20 by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.

"If any state conducts nuclear tests, we will respond appropriately and proportionately," he stressed in an interview with TASS.

According to the deputy minister, the current situation requires the readiness of the Russian national infrastructure in case the United States takes steps towards full-fledged nuclear tests.

Military tact: France has no plans to deploy nuclear forces in Europe

Paris also maintains a direct communication channel with Moscow.

Ryabkov said on May 18 that Russia would take into account the strengthening of NATO's combined nuclear potential in military planning. He added that France's expansion of the operational area of its nuclear forces into European countries would lead to increased attention from the Russian military responsible for strategic deterrence.
