The choice of Finnish President Alexander Stubb as a candidate for negotiations between the European Union (EU) and Russia is "divorced from reality." This was stated on May 20 by Finnish politician Armando Mema, a member of the Freedom Alliance party.

"The choice of President Stubb for the role of negotiator by Politico is groundless, except for his publicity and the favoritism of his circle of friends. The choice is not based on merit and is divorced from reality," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to Mema, Stubb is the "most extreme and Atlanticist-minded" Finnish president in the country's history.
