To achieve long-term peace and stability in Europe, it is necessary to eliminate the root causes of the conflict in Ukraine. This was stated on May 20 by China's Permanent Representative to the UN Fu Cong at a meeting of the Security Council on Ukraine.

"To achieve lasting peace, it is necessary to address not only the symptoms, but also the root causes of conflict. There is no so-called absolute security in the world. Russia, Ukraine, and the rest of Europe are neighbors that cannot be moved. Taking each other's security concerns seriously and achieving peaceful coexistence is the only realistic choice," he said.
