Tankers of the Russian Armed Forces destroyed the Ukrainian Armed Forces strongholds in the Zaporozhye region

Crews of T-80BV tanks of the Vostok group of forces destroyed the strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Zaporizhia region. This was announced on May 19 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

According to the agency, operators of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) discovered equipped fortified positions of Ukrainian formations during aerial reconnaissance. The coordinates of the targets were promptly transferred to the tank units.

After receiving the combat mission, the crews of T-80BV tanks took up firing positions and attacked the enemy's fortifications. Fire correction and target damage control were carried out from the air.

As a result of the fire, the Ukrainian Armed Forces strongholds were destroyed, and the forces of the Ukrainian formations in the positions were eliminated.

The Izvestia correspondent visited the front line, saw the work of drone shooters and found out how many relatives serve in the detachment.

On May 20, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Petty Officer Yevgeny Varlamov, commanding the calculation of a self-propelled artillery installation (ACS), contributed to the capture of Ukrainian Armed Forces militants in the area of a special military operation (SVO). The ministry also noted the decisive actions of Private Ruslan Vildanov, who discovered and destroyed a machine-gun crew of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
