In March, the European Union (EU) completely stopped importing oil and petroleum products for the first time in the entire period of trade relations with Russia. This was reported by RIA Novosti on May 20, after reviewing the data from Eurostat.

According to statistics, in March of this year, for the first time since 1992, EU countries completely stopped importing Russian oil and petroleum products.

In February, purchases of Russian oil in the EU were carried out only by Slovakia in the amount of €147.2 million and the Netherlands in the amount of €34.2 million.
