Petty Officer Yevgeny Varlamov, commanding the calculation of a self-propelled artillery installation (ACS), contributed to the capture of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) in the area of a special military operation (SVO). This was announced by the Russian Defense Ministry on May 20.

Varlamov was given the task of supporting the assault groups of Russian troops with artillery fire. Arriving at the position, they camouflaged the self-propelled guns and waited for signals from the advanced units. When the stormtroopers launched an attack on the enemy's fortifications and came under heavy machine-gun fire, the sergeant's crew received the coordinates of the enemy firing points and returned fire.

Immediately after the first shot, the enemy's FPV drone attacked the cannon, but the crew successfully repelled the attack from small arms. Despite the ongoing drone attacks, the gunners did not stop working.

With three accurate hits out of five shots, they managed to suppress three enemy firing points. After receiving confirmation of success from the advance groups, Varlamov ordered the crew to prepare for withdrawal. They promptly left the position, which was repeatedly attacked by drones, without suffering losses.

Thanks to Varlamov's courage and dedication, experience and skills, the assault groups quickly captured the fortified positions of the Ukrainian militants, inflicting significant losses on them and capturing an important line for further advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses.

The Russian Defense Ministry also noted the decisive actions of Private Ruslan Vildanov, who discovered and destroyed a machine-gun crew of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

During the assault on the enemy stronghold, the shooter discovered an enemy machine-gun crew who were trying to take an advantageous position to fire on the advancing group.

Risking being noticed, Wildanov took an advantageous position and eliminated the machine gunners with a well-aimed shot from a grenade launcher. Then he joined his group and took part in the capture of a stronghold, where he destroyed several opponents with small arms.

Thanks to the competent and prompt actions of the private, the assault group successfully completed the combat mission to capture the enemy stronghold with minimal losses.

On May 17, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Junior Lieutenant Andrei Isupov, as deputy commander of a motorized rifle company, participated in the assault on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). The Ministry of Defense also noted the bravery of Private Alexei Shabalin, who, as an assistant grenade launcher shooter, participated in the storming of enemy positions in the DPR.
