American scientists were able to breed chickens from a completely artificial egg. This was reported by the Daily Mail on May 19.

"Specialists from Colossal Biosciences, which plans to revive the woolly mammoth population, have created the world's first shell—less incubation system that mimics a natural egg as much as possible," the article says.

The team of scientists used bird embryos. The researchers placed them in an artificial egg and incubated them for 18 days until the chicks developed. The egg itself was made using the 3D printing method.

The company said that this event was an important milestone in the implementation of plans to restore the population of the extinct giant moa, a huge bird that reached 3.6 m in height and weighed 230 kg.

The South China Morning Post newspaper reported on May 13 that scientists from China were the first to send artificial embryos to the Tiangong space station to find out the possibility of human reproduction in zero gravity. Yu Leqian, the project leader, noted that the main purpose of the study is to study the effect of gravity on the early stages of embryo development.
