The data center predicted a decrease in traffic in Moscow in the summer to 8%

The Traffic Management Center predicts a 5-8% decrease in traffic on Moscow's roads in the summer relative to current values. This was reported in the press service of the center on Tuesday, May 19.

The data center noted that traditionally the decrease in traffic begins in late May — early June.

"At the moment, about 2.66 million cars take to the roads of Moscow every day on working days. In summer, it is expected to decrease by 5-8% relative to current values — up to 2.45–2.53 million vehicles per day," the press service of the department told the Moscow City News agency.

The center clarified that after the May holidays, there has been a slight decrease in traffic by about 1% — from 2.69 million to 2.66 million vehicles per day, and now there is no increase in the number of cars.

Earlier, on April 18, the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, announced that the Danilovsky district of Moscow had approved a draft layout for the territory of the ZIL transport hub, Moscow 24 reports. According to the mayor, the ZIL station of the Biryulevskaya line will have two lobbies at the intersection of Likhachev Avenue and Lisitsky Street, RT reports.

Meanwhile, on April 30, the data center announced the technical readiness of the cameras to reduce the non-penalized speed limit from 20 to 2-3 km/h.
