The doctor said that heat can significantly worsen the course of hypertension, so hypertensive patients in the heat should first of all strictly follow the medications prescribed by their doctor and constantly measure their blood pressure.

The therapist noted that salty and spicy foods should be avoided, as salt retains fluid in the body, which can increase blood pressure. Alcohol also retains water and increases blood pressure, the doctor warned, so you should give it up in the heat.

"It is also necessary to observe the working regime: to eliminate the stress on suburban areas during the hottest hours, to move everything to the afternoon, when there is no scorching sun. If you still need to go out into the heat on the street or use public transport, then it would be nice to have a supply of plain water with you," Lomakin warned in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .

At the same time, you should not drink too much water either, otherwise you can overload yourself with liquid, which will also lead to high blood pressure.

The doctor added that clothes in the heat should be light and allow water to evaporate well from the surface of the body, otherwise rapid overheating and blood clotting are possible.
