The temperature in Moscow has updated the record for May 19, rising to 30.5 degrees in the afternoon. This follows from the published data on the website of the Hydrometeorological Center.

According to the readings at 15:10 Moscow time, the weather station on the roof of the department building near the Krasnopresnenskaya metro station showed 30.5 degrees above zero.

The previous achievement for this day belonged to 1979, when the air warmed up to 30.2 degrees. At the same time, 1893 turned out to be the coldest on May 19: then the temperature dropped to -2.2 degrees.

On the same day, Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, said that the hot weather in the capital would last until about the middle of this week, and by the weekend the temperature could drop to +20 degrees. He explained that the May heat recorded in the capital is "a brief but vivid spectacle."
