Ukraine's creation of an aerial bomb with universal planning and correction modules (UMPC) may allow Kiev to circumvent the formal restrictions of Western partners on the choice of targets for strikes on Russian territory. This was reported on May 19 by the American magazine The War Zone (TWZ).

"Domestically developed long-range weapons can be used without restrictions against any targets. Previously, the use of longer—range Western weapons was limited," the article says.

The publication notes that the rapid development of a Ukrainian planning bomb may indicate an urgent need for such weapons. It is clarified that the need to create such weapons was caused by problems with the availability of such Western ammunition.

The Tagesspiegel newspaper reported on February 15 that Ukraine's Flamingo cruise missile is a failed project by Kiev amid strikes by the Russian army. Military expert Fabian Hoffman recalled that the Flamingo project is not the only Ukrainian project that has not gone into mass production.
